How to get an SEO client?
It’s been a while since I have written on this blog so I apologize for not bringing you the fresh content, it’s been a month. and I know everyone is really waiting for this post.
To get to the point, I will be discussing now some tips on how to get an SEO client. This article will be very useful to SEO specialists, freelancers, entrepreneurs and people who are still to venture in the online business:
1. Create a Network on the Same Field
Though its vast and continuously increasing demands on SEO, PPC, SEM, Online marketing and other Online marketing component, I still consider the internet marketing industry very young. Crossing the borders of baby to toddler, the industry is still kinda small and kind of exciting to network with experts on the same fields. I got and gave business to fellow Online marketers, some web designers and developers, some programmers and even with writers. I trade business with them and share knowledge on the field. And from this, a good alliance is being built. I get help and client referrals for FREE!
2. Make sure you satisfy your existing clients
One good way to get SEO clients is to build good relationships with your clients. In business 101, CUSTOMER SERVICE is the most important part of all. It is not a heaven when you already closed a deal or signed a contract with your client, it should be delivering what you promised and making sure that your clients understand the value of your work that you do for them.
I am proud to say that clients are not come and go for me. I build good relationships with them and so, they give me more business and referrals. Sometimes, they become also my sales agent through word of mouth. By good communication, you establish your credibility and build good rapport with your clients.
3. Do SEO work for FREE
You heard me right, do it for FREE! I have done this many times, creating proposals, evaluations and recommendations for free. All though some of these clients are pretenders (sometimes even your competitor) it is always best to provide help to others. Karma goes around, so even if you don’t get that job, you will get something bigger. (happens to me most of the time) So better be sure that your Karma is positive than negative.
4. Never ever over charge and over promise
This what I think most of SEO specialists miss when getting clients. They fail to explain the details of their work, the pros and cons of the project and the goals that can and cannot be accomplished. Doing SEO work is not always a promise and a sure solution for online marketing problems.
Other practitioners overcharge, knowing that there is no sure shot for their client’s goals. But remember, no money will amount to your reputation. It is priceless.
